PHYSICAL THERAPY OUTCOMES

Since our inception, we at Progressive Rehabilitation have strived to provide the highest quality, cost effective services to our patients. In doing so, we found that the best mechanism to insure our success is an effective Quality Assurance program. This being so, we developed a program that focuses on a number of issues, with an emphasis on patient satisfaction and the tracking of clinical outcomes.

Quality Assurance

This program is designed to monitor the effectiveness of each individuals treatment plan and consist of the following steps:

• At the beginning, we perform a thorough initial evaluation that insures the development and execution of an appropriate treatment plan.
• Next, we perform regular chart reviews to verify the efficacy of one's treatment program.
• Each patient is seen and treated by a licensed Physical Therapist at each visit.
• To insure continuity of care, our staff regularly communicates with each patient's physician, through verbal contact, progress reports and discharge summaries.
• Progressive Rehab provides its employees with regular training and continuing education programs.
• We also use clinical guidelines to monitor utilization management procedures and to insure that we provide the most cost effective and efficient treatment programs.
• Finally, the staff of Progressive Rehab examines what we feel are the two most important aspects of our Quality Assurance program, clinical outcomes and patient satisfaction surveys.

Outcome Assessment

First, we evaluate the effectiveness of each patient's program by tracking clinical outcomes. Previously, we used a system developed by our staff to track clinical outcomes, however we recently began using a nationally recognized system to insure the veracity of our results.

Secondly, each discharged patient is sent a Satisfaction Survey for his or her completion. The results of which are examined and discussed at regular meetings to insure that we address the needs and concerns of our patients.

The satisfaction surveys offer the most telling information. Patients are asked to evaluate Progressive Rehab on a scale ranging from A to E with (A) being Very Satisfied and (E) being Dissatisfied.
